2002 SX190 trolling motor

I have a 2002 motor guide 71# 24 volt hand control motor with a gator mount on my boat. I left it pluged in and a cat climbed in my boat and must have laid on the hot button untill the motor cought on fire. So I need a new tolling motor. Does anyone know if a new motor guide will mount with the same holes. I dont want to drill any more holes in my boat. But if there is no way around it I guess I will have to. Thanks for your help.

I know motor guide changed the gator mounts from what I have now. I just dont know if they mount the same way. Has anyone else run in to this?

I couldn't seey any reason why they would have changed the mounting hole layout.

Just installed a new MG tour model on a boat (even though I'm not a MG fan). Old boat had at least a 15year old MG on it. Bolt holes in the same place.

Seems MK and MG both have the same mounting holes an anything fairly recent (10years old or so).

I do like those MG rubber nut inserts though.

And, a word of caution...If it's a Tom cat, you need to cure that "cat in boat" problem right now. If he marks/sprays in your boat. I don't care who loves that cat, You won't be able to kill him fast enough to make yourself happier.

Talking about cats, i discovered dead kittens under the deck several months after i bought my boat and brought it home then had to fish out another cat (same area) a few months ago. He done chit and pissed and was in there for a week. If i wouldn't have looked to see what was smelling, he would had died. Sorry for hijacking your post.

Thanks everyone. The cat got ran over so no more worrys about the cat. I guess Motor Guide it is. I am going to get the same one as I have now only brand new.
