Don't fill the tank so much.
You should see a small gap in the cap to allow air in so the oil doesn't suction lock and stop flowing. That is where it is coming from.
I try to leave about 1 inch from full when I fill mine.
It is tough to see in this picture. There is a channel that runs through the threads to allow air to enter the tank. Picture what would happen if you were hauling down the lake and the oil tank developed a vacuum. You would be running gas only.

Teach a man to fish, he will complain that you stole his fishing spot.
I hate this too in all my other 4 skeeter I have had the feel tube to the back of the boat on the outside and have never had this problem
now with having to put the oil in without it I have oil everywere after running,
I have ran oil down to half a tank and still have this problem
Think this is a REAL bad deal since I like to have my oil tank Full all the time
Same problem here, mine is half full right now and it still happens... I even bought a new cap for $37.00 thinking it would fix the problem... I'd be interested to see if someone has a solution... Anyone posted this on the hammer board?![]()
Took this picture Saturday and was actually planning on posting up this same topic...

The tank I had in my 2003 Stratos did leak around the cap, Only think I found to solve the problem was not carrying so much oil.
The tank in my 2008 Skeeter doesnt leak, I think it is a different design.
$ 37.00 for a cap

Yeah, the parts counter guy actually bit it when he rang it up and said 'nope, it's not made out of gold' when he rang it up... He showed me the pricing on the computer and everything... A bit outrageous if you ask me, but it's done now...![]()

Sorry couldn't help it.![]()
Mine used to leak, then the dealer added a vent hose on the top of the tank. Since then no leaks. If I get a chance and remember I will take a picture on the weekend and post it.

You're overfilling the oil resevoir. The photo shows the oil level almost to the top line. Don't fill it above the lower line on the tank and you'll have room for the oil to slosh around in rough water.
This is how I advise all my customers at time of delivery. Even with the gas tanks full of gas, you'd run out of gas before you ran out of oil.
KD man thats low for me even most the time its over the top line
I'll let it go down some and see how it does, I have always filled it to the top in all my other skeeters but like I said I have allways had the fill tube to the outside of boat also![]()
Time to take a shower and head to the lake to use some of that oil up![]()
