I have a friend that runs a 1992 150 Johnson Fast strike. Water coming out of the pee hole gets at the most luke warm. You can hold your hand under it and it never gets above 90/100 degrees. Took the thermostats out and put them in hot water. They open at 125/135 and 145 degrees. Then put them in 90 water and they closed. Seems like the thermostats are OK. The water coming out of my 1995 200hp Merc is very hot (135/140 degrees) to the touch after the engine has run for a few moments/minutes and then when the thermostats open the water temp drops. The reason for the question is that the 150 Fast Strike is not the best at slow/idle. I'm thinking that the motor running cold all the time may contribute to the slow/ idle problems.![]()
