Still having a trolling motor issue

Okay so went and bougt a new spare Maxxum 80 since I have 3 tournaments back to back and cant get my old one fixed in time. Since everyone including me was thinking armature I slapped on a new one. Well I am having the same issue motor wont go when I hit the button but if I swivel it back and forth it kicks on. Batteries are new. Wires from motor to pedal are new. What could this be?

I cant get any local warranty work done so I may be ripping out the TM wiring this week and swapping it all out front to back. I dont know what else to look at but would really appreciate suggestions.

Why would swiveling the motor make it work? It gets power to the arrow as it is lighting up but motor no go... What should I look at other than replacing the wiring plugs and breakers...How hard is it to run the wiring in a 20I? Can I just take the old wires off the plug attach the new ones with a ziptie and pull them through?

This is so annoying when the wind is blowing bad and I have to kick the motor to high and sivel the head and about throw myself outta the boat. Thanks!!

I was having problems with my Maxxum 80 as well. It was doing similar things as yours. Turns out it was a problem with something in the foot control. They replaced a switch or curcuit board in it and now it works fine.
    Good luck.

Have you looked at the tm receptacle? When you rotate the pedal maybe it is tighteningthe connection at the plug.....
