    Battery Size for 200 VMAX

Need some help here. If I recall there was an issue with batteries for the HPDI at one time, does that issue apply to the ox66 engines too? If so what is the minimum amp battery for the cranking battery per Yamaha? Mine is dead and the one in my boat is a 700/890 amp. (98 ZX202)

If your dead battery did not give you any problems, why not stick with that model and amps. I wouldn't buy anything less than what you are using.

Thanks hardhead, the reason I dont want the same battery is because it is a gel type battery and I want to go back with a Interstate lead acid battery ,but they do not offer one of the same amperes and reserve time.

24 series crank batts run to 1,000 amps...one at Bass Pro and I think NAPA...about $89 last time I checked this summer.
Use 27 series for trolls if you fish huge lakes or get in windy water often or have a huge rig over 20 feet...otherwise 24s do well.

Look at them close, the 24XHd and a 27 series, both have 1000 amps.

Thanks Guys!!!! you were both right on track, BPS had one for 89 bucks, After researching some I found that Yamaha recommended at least 550 cranking amps with at least a 182 min reserve. I found a Interstate that met that at the local Champion dealer (sorry we dont have a skeeter dealer here) Thanks for the help!!

One inexpensive method for extending battery life is installing those soft rubber half balls under each corner of the battery base where is touches the battery box. You can buy these for +- $10.00 for four OR,, buy two kids high density 2: rubber balls, cut them in half and get four (4) halves for < $1.00. RTV them to the battery box and intstall the battery on top. It reduces the shock to the battery and internal plates providing longer batttery life. Also, us a "Battery Tender" charger to keep the batteries at full capacity.

Thanks Mark!! Makes good sense to me. I will do it. I had seen those, and really just thought they were a "gimmick"
