    chine walking

I have a 02 zx225 yami 225 efi 12" jakeplate 25m prop. When I get it up around 70 mph it starts chine walking pretty bad. I try adjusting trim but I just have to back off. Is my jackplate too high? My water pressure wot is around 20. What am I doing wrong? oh and tanks are filled equally and weight is distributed pretty evenly....

I don't think you'll ever get rid of it, it's just part of balancing the entire boat on a small piece of fiberglass. Try moving weight around to even everything out on each side, but once you start getting up in speed, chinewalk is inevitable..

Very few skeeters chine walk when set up properly. My guess is that your motor is too low. What is you prop shaft to pad measurement? You have plenty of h2o pressure so if your are currently too low you can go up a little.

what he said, I know my hull is a little different, but mine chine walked w/ factory setup, raised motor from 6" /bp to 3 1/2" and no more walk!

    Re: chine walking (mark sl210)

My experience with the two Skeeters I have owned is that there is chine around 70mph. I have been able to make it bearable by raising the motor and distributing weight. I have not been able to eliminate it totally though.

I am sure there is more that could be done but as you get up there in speed the smallest variables can make a huge difference.

    Re: chine walking (rayzrbck)

Mine used to chine walk a little at 70-71 by myself and little to no gas. I corrected it by moving around some of my gear and adding more gas but that is a costly option in all seriousness you need to play around with the JP. you have plenty of WP just make sure you have enough water pressure when turning.
