Skeeter Upgrade on SX-190

Well finally broke down and upgraded my electronics. I just bought the Lowrance LCX-28C-HD. I can wait to get this hooked up. Had a blast just playing with the display model. Any tips or tricks on installing this??????

You can also check out my installation, i have the 27C (console) and a 25C on the bow. Installation was easy. I also done my transducer. This was done on a SX190 also. Where my 25C is up front, that's what 07 & Jim are talking about for modifications. Here are a the links:

A friend made a plate that replaces the X-50 and the gimbal swivel bracket mounta to it. I have an extra I'd sell if you like the way it looks. He also made a matching plate to replace the X-50 at the steering wheel too. Should look pretty nice. I'll have pics wednesday of the install. Dropping it off in the morning for my dealer to put all the new electronics in. Cannot wait to see how it looks.

I looked at my boat and my rear transducer is in the same place. I'm just going to try and do the same as yours and hope for the beat. I have the dual X-47's in front and rear. I cant wait to get this bad boy hooked up.

I had the 2 X47's also. From my experience, don't plan on saving the ducer from the back, i ended up destroying my in the process. The way skeeter does it they core a shallow hole in the bilge are and fills it up with epoxy. Makes it harder to get out vs. the ones that "sit" on top of the floor.

First, get out as much of the old epoxy out that you can. I used a drimel tool to eat away at it. I started grinding in the ducer by doing that but i wasn't concerned about saving it. Then when i thought i had enough of it out it used the ol adjustable pliers. Work real good. I did pull a little glass up with it but no big deal. Just work it from side to side to loosen it all the way around. Oh yea, you will need to take everything out in the back of the boat.
