    Unattached wire

I was checking my batteries for water and found a wire that has one end not hooked to anything.I have a 36 volt MK trolling motor on a Skeeter 21 i,
It is a black ground wire with a 2 inch black fuse holder in the middle and one end is connected to the negative post on the trolling motor battery closest to the cranking battery. The wire is not long enough to reach the other two trolling motor batteries on the other side of the boat.
Anyone know which battery and which post it hooks too.?

Can't understand why there would be a fuse on a ground wire.....

    Re: Unattached wire (Olddawg)

Thats what I thought too .Don't know why a ground wire would have a fuse.Trolling motor is running on 36 volt. The wire I am talking about is a thin guage wire[about the size of a tail light wire ].I had the boat in for service a few months ago and just took the boat out of the garage Monday so it hasn't been started since last fall .I called the dealer yeaterday and he said to bring it back to see if they could figure it out.I hate to run 1 1/2 hour just to have them hook up a wire.
If anyone out there has a 20 or 21 i with a 250 HPDI V-Max / 36 volt 101 MK trolling motor could take a look in their bilge area the wire I am talking about
is on the drivers side ,is thin guage, about 2 ft. long with a black 2 in. long plastic fuse holder I would appreciate it if you could let me know which battery posts
    it gets connected to.
    Thanks

it could possibly be a ground wire for your onboard charger. If so you should have one going to each of the batteries from the charger. If that is what it is the charger should have one bank that is not charging trace it to the proper battery and walla.

    Re: Unattached wire (skeeterbit)

    Thanks for the info .
I will check it tonight. One end was connected to the 3rd. trolling motor battery. The unattached end has a battery post connector on it and is only long enough to reach the cranking battery.

All banks are charging and everything on the baot works .The only thing I haven't tried yet is starting the big motor and checking all guages.I will do that this weekend.Opened the fuse holder on the wire and it is a 250V / .5 amp fuse.
