sl190 showroom model

I recently purchased an SL190 VMAX150 for a great price. The catch beeing it never had a trolling motor or electronics installed. (Still fishin for trout gets old fast) especially from a bass rig. I am now in the market for trolling motor, the boat is prewired. I dont have a close dealer but called skeeter and they said the hull warranty would not be affected if someone else did the install. Ive seen skeeter with both minn kotas and motorgiudes, any suggestions? What did the sl come with for electronics?

my sl came with a minn kota maxxum all terrain 70#, but if I could have started from scrach like your, I really like those motor guide digitals, the foot control is smaller and the cables are smaller making it nicer to use, but about $200 more

If you fish up in the shallow junk, you'll regret getting a powerdrive model. It only takes 1 time running aground or getting bogged down with weeds and the motor shaft kinks or worse yet, the mount snaps off. Go with a Maxxum

As for the electronics, you can get whatever you want. I think it comes with a X47/X50 which is the cheapest lowrance makes. Good little units but since your going new get the best that you can.

The best thing I can tell you to buy for your SL is the romovable trolling motor mount. I forgot what it cost me, but it wasn't much. It is made by Minn Kota and comes in white and black. My dealer sold them. It is FANTASTIC if you ever use the boat for skiing/joy riding. You just pull the pin and pop off the trolling motor. There is a rectangle piece that screws to the boat and the motor screws to another piece that goes around that. It really is great to not have that motor bouncing around and in the way while skiing. Below are a few pics. Also, I put a pic of the X47 that comes with it. I've never seen one not come with at least the X47. Post up some pics when you get around to it. Oh, and buy a Minn Kota!!!

My SL190 has the MK removable TM mount. It can be very handy at times.

finally got to see yer boat jason....... .....wish I had that removable mount, mayby I could break 70 without the extra weight, or mayby I'd flip over backwards. bothers going to video me this weekend, he said that when I passed him last week, that I only had about a foot of boat in the water, and the nose was 4 feet in the air pushing a 8-10 foot rouster tail. and that was only at 55 mph. can't wait to see it for myself oh, and a X67c will also fit in the dash, thats what mine came with.

I know that the M68 is also the same footprint.

On a side note:
Has anyone tried to mount this one in a SL? Just wondering if the GPS signal is good with the built in GPS receiver.

I have the m68C in my 06' Sl 190 - fit's perfect and works great on large lakes. Also, I have the All Terrain Minkota with quick release bracket - would'nt go with ANYTHING Else.

Glad to hear that the M68 worked just fine. I was just looking at a MinnKota Terrova trolling motor for mine. I just need to get the ok with my wife without her divorcing me!
