1996 150zx?????

Can anyone share any info. about this boat good or bad?? I am looking to buy a 1996 150zx with a 150 Mariner, so I thought I'd come and ask the experts.

Yep, I have a 95 and it is a good solid boat. It's actually bigger than I thought it was when I bought it. It's something like 18.5 feet if I remember correctly.

I have a 96' ZX180 that is 18'3"..how can a 150 be longer???? A search turned up a length of 18' which still doesn't make sense....

If it is layed out like the ZX180 its a nice boat. I also have a Mariner 150 on mine, bigger would be better but really not needed.

How does it handle rough water?

I can not honestly answer that, I just picked it up in January in NC and everything up here is frozen. In a 1 to 2 foot chop its fine, runs flat and smooth......mine is a ZX180D

I had a 96 ZX180. Great Boat!! As for rough water - well, lets just say it isnt a 21 footer! All things considered, I think it handled much better than my buddy's 19' boat he had. I actually fished Erie last year on it (96 ZX180). We hung in there with all the "reasonable" guys - even those that were on 20' boats. But there comes a time up there when common sense tells you "Its time to get off the big water". I wouldnt hesitate to buy that boat. Mine had a Merc on it. Good Luck!

a zx 150 and a zx185 are basically the same length boat,,somewhere along the lines in those years of skeeter the numbers went from meaning hp rating to length or vice versa. meaning a zx150 was rated for a 150 hp motor the next year the zx 185 meant the boat was 18.5 ft long,,,same hp rating,,,,,,hope this clears it up some.
