    Per the COE site:

Maintaining lower lake elevations is necessary to keep high pressures off the dam embankments during construction and also to facilitate lowering the lake in the event of an emergency. The project will be reassessed when enough of the construction is complete to lower risk, estimated late 2018. At that time we will determine the appropriate lake levels for the future. We anticipate lake levels will return to normal.

During construction, the Corps has targeted Center Hill Lake levels between elevation 630 feet above mean sea level (msl) in the summer and no lower than elevation 618 msl during the late fall and early winter. These elevations are approximately fifteen to twenty feet lower than preconstruction lake operating levels. The chosen levels are the result of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) developed in 2007 and included consideration of safety concerns, potential impact to project purposes, and the views of the State of Tennessee, other federal agencies, affected stakeholders, and the public. The goal of the EIS was to identify an alternative that balanced the safety of the downstream human and natural environment against the reduction of project benefits from water supply, water quality, recreation, navigation, and hydropower

2 more years of vegetation growth on the now exposed banks and a water level return to former levels should yield several years of great fishing.

Fished from Hurricane down. Found 52-54. Decent day with one good 20" smallie. That 26 lb in the ky only tx was crazy. Second place was just 16 with 10 fish.

Guess that depends on your route. If 40E, the Hurricane bridge ramp on Hy 56 is good. It's a COE ramp and $5 charge. If you run 96 to 70E through Smithville toward Sparta, cross the lake at Sligo and at the top of the the hill you turn left to Ragland Bottom. It's also a COE ramp with $5 charge but is where most of the tournaments are held out of. So if on a Saturday it could be a little crowded if there is an event.

Coming down 40 Jeff, haven't made up my mind yet. I may just keep going on to Dale, haven't been back since the tournament in Dec.

The COE ramp at Hurricane Bridge puts you on the mid-lower section. Lots of good water either direction. I will say much better quality SM at Dale and The Hill can be really tough at times.

If you are coming from the Nashville area, the Edgar Evins state park marina is usually a good one. It's on the lower end of the lake which I prefer for the smallmouth fishing.

Smallies and Spots are what I'd be looking for. I've never fished the hill before.

Can't say anything about the upper lake as I don't fish there. But from the dam up to Indian Creek you can find both. Lots of very good areas.

Stop at any COE headquarters and pay for the annual pass -- it pays for itself plus you don't need to worry about putting that $5 bill in that little brown envelope, especially in the rain :)
