    03 TZX 190-recessed troll tray

I have heard mixed opinions on whether or not it is possible to install a recessed tray in the deck of these boats. Does anyone know for sure whether it is possible, and if so is any additional "support" required? I'm thinking of installing one, but don't want to screw nothing up. Thanks

Search for the post by CA Ken. He did a super job and took a bunch of pictures. I followed his directions and it worked out great. I will never have another boat without a recessed tray. I put in a Comfortroll and he did a Flat Foot, but it all works the same way. Good Luck.

My 3 Skeeters all REQUIRED some under support (no big deal or cost). Think twice about believing those who have not actually fished standing on a troll tray for at least 50 trips... too much to risk... you really want to have the floor start caving in 2 years when simple bracing could have made it a 10+ year or longer rock solid deal?

I seen somewhere on here that someone reported Skeeter would warrenty the deck if it was installed by a Skeeter dealer. But being an 03 don't know how that would work out, you can call Skeeter and find out & it would cost more if dealer done it. So with that said, might check into things.

Skeeter will cover with the hull warranty if the job is done by a Skeeter dealer. I spoke with them myself before I had mine installed. I have the Flatfoot. Mine works great with no extra support needed. Entire job, tray plus labor, was about $325. To me, it was well worth the extra money for the assurance of warranty coverage.

A Skeeter dealer did my 2006 BUT the other 2 Skeeters were braced after the (non-Skeeter dealer, half the $320 cost each also) mechanic looked closely at the total situation. There is no reason not to invest a piddling amount for a couple of wood braces easily made-installed...your risk. Fiberglass work is super expensive. Good luck with it. Just trying to help here.

Just my 2 cents here but John the Guy I got my boat off of put 1 in hmself and it was fine until about 2 months ago (so I think its been in the boat 3 years or so maybe he will jump in and stay how long) But I don't think he put any in but the tray, and Now everytime I walk on the front part of the deck it makes some real bad noises, I know I'm going to have to do something to fix it soon, but I also know were I can stand and move with out it making any noise. So if I was you I would just pay Skeeter /Marine dealer to put it in and COVER YOUR AZZ
