    Jack Plate on SX200

Hi I am looking or thinking about putting a jack plate on my 01 SX200.
Hoping to get a little more speed out of my boat, now running 67 to 68mph on gps.
I am now running a 27" small hub trophy and getting this speed at 5600rpm, which is fine.
Hoping that a plate will allow me to get my speed and rpm with less trim for better rough water handling.
I would appreciate any help or advice
    Thanks

I believe adding a jackplate to a SX voids the warranty? I'd be satisfied with the 68 mph you're getting now, not sure if the jp boost would be worth it..

Don't do it. It will void your hull warranty. Call the Skeeter factory to confirm that's still the case.

I was the owner of a 2002 SX200 which came from the factory with a jack plate, and they had problems with the boats cracking (I had my entire top cap replaced).

At the time I was told by the guys in the warranty/service dept that the factory would no longer install jackplates on the SX200s and that it would void you warranty.

And yes it did help the performance, mine got up out of the hole faster than my current ZX225 and I topped out at 71 mph.

I've seen a few SX's with factory plates that have been run very hard with no issues.

Mine came from the factory with a 6" plate. It was an option. Ive never had a problem and i run the boat hard. Even take it to Lake Erie and shes been in 4'ers about a dozen times. I still wouldnt add one to a newer boat if they didnt recomend it.

I called Skeeter when I was looking at getting an SX 200 with a JP and they said that it would IMMEDIATELY void any warranty. Unless you get a hydraulic JP you are not looking at getting but about 3-5 mph out of it.
