    7610xsv and Yamaha SHO

I know, somebodies gonna say google it. I've reached the end of the internet over the weekend so I figured I'd ask my fellow BBC electronic wizards on this particular topic first. Does the 7610xsv have the capability to interface with the 250 SHO and display the gauges/engine stats like the lowrance does? If so how do you get them to display it?
    Thanks

What year and what gauges do you have?

If the lowrance is already connected, then the Garmin will connect to the same place with the same NMEA2000 cable via the N2K backbone.

new boat/motor/gauges ordered w the Garmin already in it. Factory (there are no dealers) wasn't much help.

You will need a NMEA2000 network. The Garmin will connect to the network, and the Yamaha will connect to the network using a Lowrance to Yamaha NMEA2000 cable. The details of exactly how to do that vary depending on which gauge set and how its connected to the Yamaha. You need to find an open device port.

Check this thread for more details.

The easiest thing would be to have who ever is installing your Garmin to add the NMEA 2000 network and do the connecting for you.

10-4. Garmin is already in. I've had the boat for a few months. I'll check that thread out. Thank you. Then maybe have to find someone around here who knows what they are doing on an install.

The NMEA2000 backbone thing is pretty simple. Everything just plugs in together. Its finding the connection to the Yamaha that is tricky. I dont know how to tell the difference between the different ports, so you would need to find a dealer to ask. You may have to add another piece from Yamaha to make it work.
