ZX225 Under Driver Seat Question?

I am looking to screw in 2 brackets to hold down a spare prop that I like to carry. My ZX185c had a spot for a spare prop under the seat and it had some hold down brackets that I would like to have in my "new to me" ZX225. How long of a screw can I use for the brackets?

1/2" should work fine and hold well.

I have a 05 ZX225 and believe me when you put your prop under the seat it isn't going anywhere. I think that is why they stopped installing hold downs under the seat it is just not needed.
