Dealer just called...said there was way too much give to install the tray without making some braces below it...SX200 (2006)...just to warn ALL Skeeter owners... braces are a must for ALL troll trays if you want them to last over a year or two...

I have one in my ZX-225 - over a year - no problem.
Then again.........I'm not fishing NEARLY as much as I used to. I've even entertained getting rid of the boat and truck combo.......
That don't sound right. Have you noticed any "play" in the deck when fishing???

I am considering installing one in my 98 ZX185C. Took the compartment liners out to assess the deck and there is a brace/rib running right down the center of the front deck toward the stern. If you were to install the tray in the 'normal' position you would have to remove a considerable portion of this support structure. I am considering installing the tray to the right of this rib, where my right foot would normally be if I was standing centered in the boat.

I had a comfortroll in my skeeter for over 3 years with no problems. i probably have installed 20+ of them in the last 2 years in all different makes of boats and havent had any complaints about them. As far as skeeter i never put on in a sx200 but have put numerous in a sx180. dont see it being much difference in the 2 decks
Just passing it along...SX needed braces...no prob, its like a rock now... when you step on it and your foot caves thru... all because a couple of simple braces were needed...its gonna be quite a memory... maybe even a broken ankle memory on a windy day... that won't happen in a year or two of 4 days a month use... but just remember some cheap bracing goes a long way to peace of mind. Its your call. I have bracing because I trust the mechanic 2 miles away... he knows I will be in his face even if on crutches by then... whatever boys, I had my say.

I have a SX190 without a hole cut out but i have no play in the deck. I think there were several SX's on here that done the addition and haven't seen any complaints.![]()

Maybe the mechanic was overreacting some, but hey... braces are total peace of mind for many years...I think it takes 4-5 years of above average fishing time since most guys only get to go a few days a month...
I was also told by a certain maker that my 1st (plastic tray) was no prob... well, in the ZX195 the heel of the tray cracked because of the 2 screws the directions say to put there... got the replacement new one and left them out... also put a slab of 1/8 inch plastic under the heel to spread the weight... no prob for the 6 months before I sold the boat...
now I get another of the same tray last week... and...bingo.. they now have a thin board glued to the floor of the plastic tray... so somebody besides me had them crack.
