I don't know about other motors, but I have a Yamaha and the trim sensor is a plastic piece that is located at the engine where it pivots up and down and I have had to replace mine from it being cracked in half. Hopefully it's just the plastic trim sensor.

Where do you get the plastic trim sensor. Mine is cracked and I would like to replace it. It works, but it is not accuate.
I ordered mine from a Skeeter dealer, and they shipped it out to me.

If you got a yamaha, call any yamaha dealer.. if you have a Merc, call any Merc dealer or order it of the Merc website. Even though the gauge pack may say Skeeter on them, its still a generic sender for your engine.

Thanks everyone.
My 2004 Trim Sensor is a 2 componet system. Part 1 is the wired (electrical) component with Stem and Part 2 is a thin plastic clamp ring with a stem sticking off it. As it turns out from eveyone's help, I was able to quickly determine the problem.
1 turned on power to boat
2 moved steering wheel where I could see guage
3 Located part A with wires and stem
4 used finger to move stem up and down
5 Guage worked!
6 thin plastic clamp with stem was just rotating around in circles!
7 Need to call dealer and order part.
Cabelas In KC has them for 2.50 each

I found them at a local dealer. I bought 2 for $5. Cheap fix and I have a spare.
