OR IS THE THROTTLE USELESS AFTER IT IS INSTALL. ALSO HOW HARD ARE THEY TO INSTALL. IM A AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC SO I HAVE PLENTY OF TOOLS AND MECHANICAL KNOW HOW. I don't know of a hotfoot that you can use the throttle handle as well. Most hotfoots(hotfeet? ) control the throttle while the shifter is used for shifting only.

They are very easy to install. Just make sure you buy an extra throttle cable that is at least 2 feet longer than the existing one in the boat. I'm assuming you have a Yamaha so maybe the guys in the Yamaha forum have instructions on how to do it....otherwise, you'll find instruction in the Mercury forum, which I used.
I'm sure someone here will chime in

Also make sure you don't run the screws through the hull during installation. This has happened many times.

    Re: HOT FOOT QUESTION (MUSKIE08)

I have asked that question before, because I like to troll with my boat. Someone on here told me that there is a hot foot that you can use either way, I can't think of the name of it right off hand. I will try to find it and post.

    Re: HOT FOOT QUESTION (skeeterguy)

Can someone explain how you change the In-control unit from foot operation to hand control? Is there some adjustment you need to make or are they both live all the time?
