I have got a 79 with a evinrude 115. Did a lot of cosmetic work this past summer, because it sat for almost 5 years. New seats, carpet, floors and lids, rewired the elcectrical system, put in new bildge and live well pumps. Then when I was ready to put it in the water the the lower unit went out. Got it replaced and the replacement unit went out. That has been the only major work i have to do to it since i got it from my brother in law in 93. I did rebuild the trailer from the behind the spare tire carrier to the rear in this past October. I had been ready for an upgrade for a while and just purchased a 06 ZX 190. But I can't seem to part with the old one though, just love that old boat too much to sell it.
Got any pics of yours?

Have to hook up my scanner first.Headed to Amistad Friday for the weekend. Will try to have some pics early next week.I have been upgradeing things like the trolling moter, live well pumps. Also had to have a new transom put in about three years ago.the seats are still in good shape(originals). The carpet is ok,but planning to replace it in 2007.
It doesn't have to be late model or 22+ foot to be enjoyable.I don't want the payments!I have been restoring 86 starfire150 with96 115 evinrude and paying as i go, doing all the work my self .Hope to put in water next week weather permitting. All wood rotten and replaced including foam flotation. All new gauges, pumps, batteries and carpet.Should make a great guadalupe river boat! Happy New Year!
I think that fixing up a boat makes you appreciate it more. And yes not having a note is absolutely great. Thats why I am happy with my SS90
I had a '85 Starfire175...great boat...motor started knocking so I let it sit for a year while I tried to find another one for a reasonable price....ended up finding a '94 ZX 175 for a little more than what I was going to have to pay for a used motor...check out the deck extension I done on the Starfire...its in the post above Deck Extension on 91 ZX175....sure gives you alot more room...

Kevin, I saw those pictures last week, looks good.. I had thought about doing that in the Wrangler this past summer. Mainly for storage of wider items that would not fit in the narrow drystorage box upright. But I started having problems with the stringers and decided to wait. But then I bought the new boat and transfered everything over to it instead.
Pics soon to follow-I took that 5 foot rod box @ passenger side, cut the end out,ran pvc pipe forward under front deck. Now 8+ foot rod and reel (x5) fits great.
I want to buy that thing..had the HP150 in the late 70's...great boat that got squirrley with the 150 Black Max but was a ball hanging on...let me know
Can't seem to find the time to work on my own boat. They say it's a good problem to have.I also have a 1981 Searay thats been parked for 3 years. The upholstery shops want $2500 to replace and I dont do upholstery.Had several offers, but like it's ride too much to sell. Will see if I can part with this one!
