I fished it and the lake fished tough. My buddy lead after the first day with a 4.7? and we took the lead in the 8:00 hour with a 4.86. We brought a nother fish in at 10:00 and were still leading. By this point in time we thought we actually had a chance to win with the lake fishing as hard as it was. When we made it back at 12 there were 5-5 pounder fish weighed.
I was really impressed with the effort Skeeter puts into the owners tx. If you had questions they had answers - anything from boat, motor, to trailer. I have had an issue with my boat since I got it. Screws all over the boat were ripping out of the fiberglass. I showed it to the Skeeter guys and they said they would fix it no questions asked. They also give away a bunch of stuff. Just one of the bags of tackle they were giving away to the guys who found a duck contained more tackle then I had in my boat. I am talking good stuff (Lucky Craft, Lowrance Electronics, Kistler rods, etc).
I will be back next year.
I don't know where we are, but we are making darn good time.
I hope it falls where I can fish it or the one on Lake Fork Next year. Had hoped to get there this year just couldn't make it happen.

You do know that they give special prizes to the competitor that traveled the farthest don't you. (Of course it probably wouldn't account for but about 1/10th of the money you would spend in fuel)![]()
It sure is fun to fish on Fork though.

I fished it with my brother and a friend. My brother got third place in an hour and I missed placing by .08 pounds in an hour. The farthest drive prize winners were a husband/wife/son from Washington state. Fishburne gave them some grief, but they said they just wanted to take a family vacation and everyone applauded. Fishing was really tough for us - we caught quite a few 14 inch fish, but it was hard to catch the weighing kind. The saddest story I heard was about a couple who ran their boat onto some rocks before daylight on Saturday - completely grounded (several boats stopped and helped get it back in the water) and then on Sunday the same couple came in with a 7 pounder but they were two minutes late. I saw them fast idling throught the crowd with a bag out at one minute after twelve and said to my brother "they are not going to let them weigh a fish". The fish would have easily won them a boat and the $3,000 biggest fish cash prize. Talk about bad luck!
Well, since I live in western Washington I probably would have been the longest traveling angler...but I just didn't have enough vacation time to make the trip. I would have loved to return to Clark Hill Reservoir since the last time I have fished it was the BASS Federation Nationals in 1975. It would have been cool to have returned and re-lived those moments.
ciao,
Marc
