    opinions on the ZX200

I was wondering if anyone that had one of these boats would be willing to give me a little info on them. I'm looking for info on speed and handling as well as fishing ability. Also any likes or dislikes? I was originally looking at an i-Class but can't bring myself to spend $50,000 + with taxes. Thanks in advance for the help!

Re: opinions on the ZX200 (Brian McCarty)

From reading other post I think you will find the boat will be hard pressed to reach 70+ with tourny load. I own a ZX190 and think its the best fishing 18ft out there one would think the ZX200 would fish much better. The decks on these ZX's are huge.

As for speed nothing a Hydro Phase kit couldn't help assuming your running a Yammie.

I have the 2002 ZX200 and absolutely love its fishability. Big decks, plenty of storeage and a solid ride. I fish some pretty rough waters including Lake Champlain and Lake Ontario and it handles them with the best. As far as speed, you'll have to do some work to get it up to 70. My best is around 68 GPS with a tournament load. Not bad but the 225's and 250's will be walking away from you. If you are worried about someone beating you to a spot on tournament day, always have a back up plan and hit the spot after they leave, you'll still catch the fish. Good luck.

I seen one at a show and thought it was georgeous, pretty much a magnum sized ZX185-LOL. I think anyone who gets one of these is going to own one fine fishing machine.

Re: opinions on the ZX200 (SkeeterBill1)

I am very satisfied with mine so-far. Rocket ship out of the hole, and will run 67-69 with 2-big guys, and tons of gear. If you like taking turns fast...It's very good at that too. They ride pretty good in the ruff stuff (maybe not quite as good as a couple of boats the same length, but very good) Very dry riding boat. Deck & storage space is excellent. Pretty much all the bells & wistles you could want are standard. Take one for a test ride. I was kind of torn between the Bass Cat P4, and the ZX200. I really liked them both about the same. At the time I bought mine, I went with Skeeter mostly because of the dealers that I had to choose from. There are several comparable sized, really nice boats out there that are very close in price, and quality. But, I don't think you would regret going with Skeeter.

I have a TZX190 but my buddy just bought a 2007 ZX200. I have not ridden in it yet but I have crawled all through it looking it over and let me say it is one sweet ride. I don't think you can go wrong with that rig.

I drove Jamo1's 2006 ZX200 a few weeks ago, it ran good. Got my sights set on a ZX225.

Re: opinions on the ZX200 (Brian McCarty)

yep, i have some Brian, i previous had a 2001 zx225, i loved it , i now have a new 07 zx200... lets start with deck space. Skeeters have considerable more than others in same boat lengths, gotta compare boat sizes the same to be fair with yourself, i looked and compared alot b-4 i bought both boats. I love deck space & storage more than any thing else. Now theres a big differance between the sx models and the zx models, zx have good bit more deck space, not to mention storage and alot of bells & whistles to boot, which in return cost more. I compared it to stratos, tritons, etc...unless you get the trition x series its got more, but you would have to move up to 20fter boat to get the x series, when i traded my zx225 on my zx200, i was able to get all my stuff in the zx200, and believe me it was alot, but it was tight in the zx200, that xtra 7" goes long way especially in the rod rack, in the storage boxes there not quite as deep as the zx225`s, and far as speed the fastest i can get her @ numerous times , with playin w/ jack plate, etc is 69.4gps thats me alone with about 20gal of gas with it loaded down with tourney load, it has great hole shot (25 T1 2.5sec constanally). It defantally is hamperd the more weght thats added to boat,ex. another person, more gas, etc (average two people with half tank gas 65-66mph@gps) thats where the zx225 does better with the xtra 25 horses...and its not influenced with weight either as much ( averaged 72.gps mph w/ two people with 40gal gas & tourny load)so with all this bein said i love my 07 zx200, you gotta determine if you want little more room and speed than the zx200, i couldnt afford the price differance between zx200 & zx225

Am happy with my 2006 rig...got 71gps in cool water light load... layout is superb... no complaints except water can get under seats into compartments if heavy...rest is A+...have had 5 Skeeters... good luck whatever.
