    What if I put a 225HP on my ZX185c?

I knew this would get someones attention! The idea was kicked around alittle this weekend that it might be a fairly easy swap and just might scream Anyone know how difficult this swap might be? Oh, don't worry about the boat being rated for a 175, I been doing this bass'in stuff for 20 years and haven't been checked yet

Some states and insurance companies have only maximum limits. This isn't automatically illegal everywhere. I used to have the mfr formula for ratings. I will have to search for it now.

I can tell you the formula will say it's overrated
go ahead and do it bill- if you can hang onto it it'll be nice

A friend of mine did this on an older Gambler. I believe it was '90 model that was rated for a 175. He put a Pro V 200 on it from the get go (with a 175 cover of course). After that motor went he got a 225 VMax EFI for it. At that point the boat became a different animal. He had to learn how to drive it all over again. Not to mention I would no longer ride with him because it was scary fast..

You can install a Phase II Kit and run with any 225 if you have a 175... and same cowl... same dog, but much bigger bite...
