Seats ripping and emblems coming off?

I purchased a new 2004 ZX250 from a pro in March of 2004. The boat had never been on the water and I actually had to take it in for final rigging and prep. Currently my driver’s seat is split open at the seam as well as the middle seat and all of the Skeeter emblems with the beak have peeled back. Has anyone else had these issues? The boat is washed after each use and is garage kept. I called Skeeter and asked them about the issues and their response was basically sorry about that but you will have to purchase all of the parts at full price from a dealer. I was very nice on the phone and told him how much I had enjoyed the boat other then these issues but that did not seem to matter. I will be looking for a new boat in 07 but given this wonder if I may need to switch. Spending that kind of money I expect things would last more then a couple of years. Any suggestions on what I might try or where I can order Skeeter parts for a reasonable price?

Automotive upholstery shop should be able to take care of the seams. Not sure how the emblems are held on the backs. Perhaps they can attach them as well.

Have the same problem. Went to the dealer and they were very accomodating and have ordered new seats-both front and rear at no cost.

BTW.....you need to call Skeeter again and talk to someone in management. Skeeter will stand behind their products even after the warranty is up. See post below.

Yeah, I would call them again and speak to someone else. I agree, it seems like the seats are crap, but Skeeter seems to be very good at taking care of things like this. I would give em another shot. Let us know how it goes.

sad sad sad. this is a problem people are having with all the new boats. they have sent my dad 3 new butt seats now and replaced his passenger seat. they are very accomodating, but GEESE should you be having these problems when you drop that kind of cash on a boat? and yes i am aware that skeeter doesnt make the seats they farm them out, but hey ought to farm them out to someone better!

Fabric of my seats of my 2006 zx335 tearing at the seams. Sent my dealer photos. Called me back and said they were placing an order for new seats. My dealer is Fun-N-Sun in Texas. I'm not pleased they ripped, but I am pleased with the response.

If you do get the new seats.. don't put them in until your ready to sell.

I had a 2000 ZX 202 and Skeeter replaced the seats in 2003 due to ripping!!! They stand behind their product.

I talked to Skeeter today about my seats on 1999 ZX185 and they told me there was nothing they could do. Which I expected on this older boat. She also mentioned that the guys who make the seats are proud of their work. (So why all the problems with the seats?) I also asked her if seats from a newer Skeeter would work on mine and she could not give an answer. Anyone out there tried this? I found a set with the newer design (2001) but hate to buy them if they won't work. Might have to bite the bullet and spend the money to fix them.

Are you in KC area? I have a buddy that can redo, seats for a competitive rate. He can upgrade the material and do color match, that will blow away, the grade of material used by the mfg.
The only other choice you have is to go to local upholstry shop and have it done.
