    Fake or Real?

So check this image wired to fish just posted from some Aussie. I think this fake. Anyone shed some light on this? He said on his page the depth was just under 4 meters. Unit a helix 10.

I asked for the whole screen and he gave me this. I thought originally it was taken in DI...

They are the same image. I think he just zoomed in and rotated the first image.

There is no DI image. The first post is a photo of most of 1/2 of a SI view. You can see the SI centerline in the picture where the screen curser is and you can see the blurry line on the left side of the SI from aerated water coming off the hull.

Doubt a mako... Not in 5 meters of water. Maybe a sandshark with that long tail.

I'm not all that familiar with HB units, but isn't the wrong side of the shark being "illuminated"?

In other words, if the fish was swimming or facing the opposite way the boat was moving, and was on the starboard side of the boat, shouldn't the starboard side of the shark be showing, not the port side?

The fish is on the starboard side of the boat.

    Correct.

Doesn't the image show a shark "illuminated" as if it was on the port side of the boat?

I suspect it was closer to center so the right beam was deflecting more of top and to left side of shark. If the transducer were centered directly over the shark there would probably be imaging on left and right side of display. There is some glare on the picture but looks like there is a faint return directly left of the right side image. But definitely strongest return was from RH crystal.

Fake, Don't SI fish images always show as white large, medium, rice grains or dots?
