Was there any reason to be alarmed before you bought it?.......It should be a good motor. I have a 03 200 and it has performed flawless....................Roger

Not in the least, has less than 14 hours, and from what I had read, it should be a great motor. Runs great, and is so smooth. Love it so far, just thought there might have been updates it needed or the such. I need to run XD50, correct?

i've got an '04 225ho & it's been 99.9% flawless, so far. the .1% was a little miss at idle that was taken care of very easily by my dealer. as for oil, i've run xd100 since day one (1) with great results. besides being a better oil than xd50, i decided on it for very cold weather fishing. my manual recommended it if motor was used in air temps less than 40-50 (can't remember exactly?) - i'll fish year round unless the water is hard.

In colder weather the xd-50 could set off some no oil codes, is the reason to use 100 in the winter. I changed to 100 on my 03 225DI and have just stayed with it.
Thanks for the replies, will probably just run XD100
