I am buying a 2007 ranger Z21 with a Pro XS 250. It has a manual jack plate and a 25 pitch fury. I am wondering what the best set up for speed would be with this boat. I will be getting a hyd jack plate and changing props if needed. I know this wont be the fastest boat but I would like to make it perform the best it can. Thanks everyone!
I've got an 07' Z21 with a 250 Pro X/S. It's got a Bob's 10" Hyd. jack plate. It came new with a 25P Tempest plus. I've got a 24P Fury on it now. It get's out of the hole quicker with the fury. Alone in the boat. 20 gal. of gas and no water in the livewell it runs 71 mph on gps. I was told a 25 Fury would be too much prop for it. Would love to know if that is good info.

Is 10'' the best jack plate for a Z21?
Yes, much better all around than the 6".
Don't really know if it's best but it's what my dealer recommended when I ordered the boat.

Yes sir, u need that extra 4 inches to hold that nose up especially in rough water conditions.
The 10" for sure, you should however be able to turn the 25" Fury. Regardless, a good Fury is much better than the Tempest Plus. The Z21 is a nice boat but needs the lift of the Fury.
