Best overall prop for a 721/250 Pro XS Combo

you guys who are running this combo what prop seems to be best overall for holeshot, speed, and handling? I'm starting to get everything ready for when I order my bird and wondered what your experiences have been!

Re: Best overall prop for a 721/250 Pro XS Combo (alarson31)

I have a 721 with a merc 250 Pro Xs and atlas 10in plate. I generally run my 27 tempest plus, balanced & blueprinted by Mark. Best speed of 78.23 with one person and a full fishing load. This prop gives the best speed but more important is the driving and handling. Virtually no chine and turns great. During this summer I have been trying a stock 26 fury. Slightly better holeshot, best top speed of 77+. The 27 tempest does better with two people and a tournament load than the fury. tempest runs 74 to 75, and the fury runs 73 to 74. These figures are in the heat of the summer. I think the 27 tempest is the best all around prop.

I've run the 27 Tempest and now I run a 26 Fury. I really prefer the Fury. There are some videos of my running with that prop on my site at http://mybasslife.com/?page_id=226. They'll give you a feel for how it handles with a fury.

    Scott,

Thanks for sharing the videos. It looks like with a heavy load like you said you run that fury handles and runs great. I really never carry too heavy of a load so I might look to go up to a 27 tempest even for the warmer months.
