the link to hotels in the surrounding area...the cabins at goose pond are good from what i'm told and most of the hotels in scottsboro are boater friendly....
I'm waiting on Doug Campbell, owner of the two Waterfront locations to call me back and let me know what tournaments they have going out of his places on this date...that will determine launch site...jimmy

That's a tough time to get a lot of interest from folks for a mini-rally. It is still prime tournament season so a lot of folks are still doing the trail/club thing. Most of the participants you will get with this date will be non-tournament anglers.
Shoals Outdoor Sports also has their big annual tournamet on May 28th on Pickwick. It generally draws a lot of fishermen too (including me if I had a boat).
Just keep in mind that if there are 5 tournaments on Guntersville on the 28th (probably at least that many), and 10 Phoenix owners are fishing in them, they won't be able/want to fish the Phoenix only tournament.
That's not saying this is a bad idea, it is just a lot harder to get a turnout than you might think. BCB has been in business for how many decades? And sold how many boats? And I believe they end up with a couple hundred at their owner's tourney. You will be very hard pressed to get 3-5% participation in these tournaments.
You may get a few more in July/August when kids are out of school and the tournament season has died down. But, it's also miserably hot and the fishing is different (deep ledges).
I think it's a great idea and please don't take my post as being too negative. I just want you to understand why you may not get the participation you were looking for.
Keep us updated though.![]()

Didn't take it as negative and understand the tournament "season". Someone had to start somewhere so I thought I'd give it a try...I'm open to suggestions from anyone that has ideals on how to get more of us together...
I would be in if you can get enough interest keep posting info
