part number for piston rings, '93 Fast strike

j150GLETG - Fast Strike 150, 1993

The piston rings I received from boats.net do not fit. The set that came has 2 equal size rings, but my piston requires a narrower inner ring and I believe a tapered outer.

Anyone know the correct part number for the ring set I need?

std, oversize, manufacturer of pistons??????????

0436353 for std. 0436354 for .030" oversize. If you have OMC pistons check the number stamped on your piston crown.

Piston is Std #j434504
The ring set that doesn't fit is #436353. This is 2 equal size non tapered rings.

The set I need should have a thinner inner ring and I thing a tapered outer.

I found an old post in doing some searching and it seems that when making these '93 motors they may have used 1992 pistons to use up stock.

Looking at the part diagrams for '92 & '93 confirms this.

I think the ring set I need is 0433096

So for anyone in the future....check stamped piston # first to see which piston they put in.
