Hey guys, I'm kind of in a pickle here. Does anyone have some pics of a SI ducer on a holeshot plate. I guess that I'm not quite smart enough to figure out how to install it? Thank Tom![]()

Tom don't have pics on a HB SI transducer YET! but do have of a Lowrance SS transducer. There should not be all that much difference except for the mounting hardware and HB's is way smaller than Low.
I used one of these units for my Lowrance SS transducer and will for my HB one as well.

Also take a look at these and see if they will be any help for ya![]()

Here is a shot of mine. I used a L bracket to mount it on the side and all the way up. I had to counter sink and use flush mounted screws on the hole shot plate, for the bracket to sit flush. The transducer sits right up on the bottom of the JP. It also clears the Tubes. If you mount it on the passanger side you can run the wire up into the JP, I had to loop it up and over.

Thanks Tim I really want to bolt this to the hopleshot plate but if I can't get the right angle then that will be next spot. Thanks Tom
I thought we were supposed to plase the SI transducers on the hole shot plate (once we go and purchase one). Seem to be conflicting schools of thought.
Advantages/Disadvantages to both?

With Lowrance it is a good idea to have it in the middle of the hole shot plat (or where I found it does its best job) because then your boat track is centered with the boat on the screen. IMO
Ed, I have a tranducershield but the wedges they have are not the right angle for this holeshot plate. It's about 3/4 to an 1" off. I'm going to try to shime it and see how that works. I've this thing for about a week and just haven't had time to put it on until the other nite and ran into this problem and have a tour in the morning. Again thanks for all of the help guys Tom![]()
Here is a shot of how far down it would be with the wedge.
Yes on the side it is about 7 to 8 inches off center of the boat. But you want be able to tell in my opion with the error in GPS, GPS to Transducer, slant Range etc. If you are worried about the little offset you need to mount the puck in the splash well right over the transducer for starters. I would rather get it up higher to protect it when running down the lake.
