    I scratched my bird!!!!!!!

I put 3 small gashes in my bird, its on the insert on the logo on the side panel. I wonder if phoenix has some touch up paint or something to put on the gel to make it go away. Im sick, and what is really bad is they are barely noticeable. midnight blue does not handle a good scratch very well.

Re: I scratched my bird!!!!!!! (clm6741)

This has worked on my 721, so here goes.
Meguiar's products is about all I use on my rig except BBS.
Try this product first and works great on swirl marks or small scratches; SCRATCHX 2.0
It may take a couple of tries, but if you see results after two applications keep going.
DO NOT just rub in one small spot or you will make the gel coat uneven.
If after two or three attempts and no results try this CLEAR COAT SAFE RUBBING COMPOUND.

Auto Zone carries a good supply of Meguiar's products, or should say our local one does.

If you use a power buffer be careful and do not leave it in one spot very long, as the gel coat they use is softer than other rigs.....One of the reasons they will not get stress cracks, or should say have not heard of a Phoenix getting any.

Know how you feel within the first week of having mine the rear went up under a dock (while letting wife go to a bath room at a marina ). I got mine to a point you can no longer tell its there Unless you know where to look.

Good Luck and you will not be able to keep them pristine, its a fishing boat, but do understand how you feel. Hope you do not have a lot of standing timber or stumps on your lakes

Note: Get you some colored Sharpie markers in the color of your rigs, they work great for small marks, especially if you have a black hull. Put in the scratch let it dry good and then wax over the area.

If that fails to do it for you, call Jeff H at the plant and ask him to ask Mike what you should do. They fixed some NASTY marks I got on mine when I was out there last week for my 2nd console install. They we sanded it and it was gone as if it never happened.

They did the same for me too when the Bird went back to the factory.
