    storage question

on the back deck storage compartments, is it big enough to fit full size plano boxes in there? And the lazy suzan up front, can that be taken out or not used?
    Thanks

    Re: storage question (jonmay)

Yes, you have 2 HUGE dry boxes with southco latches that can hold several 3700 boxes on the back deck.

The Lazy Susan can be taken out (I did this for a while) and I found that I really liked it once I got some 3600 boxes and now I put ALL of my hard baits up there in that area and have anything with any weight to it in the big box or back boxes if I don't use them much. I use the big 4" deep guide series Plano boxes with the red O rings to keep plastics in as well as the standard cooks system for hanging daily baits and it has made me that much more efficient in bait identification and selection which = more casts/presentations per day.

The Lazy Susan is actually a great system once you get your head around how to configure and use it which it took me a few days to get it dialed in the way I want it but now that I have it I can't imagine not having it. I keep my mustang vests in that box also for quick/easy access.

Tons of storage in this boat. It's really something else. I'd wager to say that you'll love it if you take time to go over every inch of it, there's nothing not to like and having owned recent models of both Ranger and Tritons bigger boats can say that these guys are more than competitive with those lines. These guys knocked it out of the park with these boats.

    Re: storage question (lknbassman)

I own a 21x2 now and wish I had 2-3 more mph when I need it. Love everything else about the boat. Great info. How narrow is the tip on your boat up by the trolling motor? My boat is pretty wide and I like the room I have with my rods on the deck. My biggest concern is handling in rough water. Plus I like how my boat cuts through waves when my kids are in the boat. That adds another question. Is there a middle seat available for my kids to sit when they are on teh boat?
    thanks for all your info!!!

    Jonmay,

Phoenix does offer the middle seat option for a 3rd person we just ordered a 2011 721 with it. The 3rd seat is almost wide enough to put two kids in.

My $.02 on the comparison you are making:

Phoenix has better storage than the 21X2

Deck room is comparable to the 21X2 in terms of the width of the casting deck. Oh yeah, mine's padded also which is amazingly comfortable if you are up there all day as I don't use a butt seat ever (don't like having them in the way on any of my boats). This boat is stable to the point that I don't even carry the butt seat in it and this lake has some pretty big water at 55,000 acres.

You can get the third seat as mentioned

    Phoenix is faster without question

Phoenix 721 ride is better in rough & smooth water than the 21X2. Jon, I took this picture with 1 hand on the wheel while I snapped the photo with my blackberry in the other hand. There is no way my Triton 21X HP would allow me to do that at that speed and a 21X2 won't run that fast.

Do yourself a favor and go check em out. I'd wager to say that you'll be impressed just as we all are.

I'm not sponsored by them, I paid full boat for my rig and have not looked back with any doubt yet. Hope this info helps you.

Rough water handling is a big strength with Phoenix and the main reason I bought one. I also got the center seat!

This is a great boat and deserves a look see before buying anything else!

P.S. "lknbassman" knows his boats...and he knows Tritons! listen to the man!

Thanks to all who posted. Great information. I actually spoke to the rep up here who lives in Wisconsin as I do. He's sold them all in the past and vows to this boat as well. Now I just have to sell mine.

    Re: storage question (Sktr#22)

No ... no ownership yet. Boat is being built. These pics came from Jeff Hartung at Phoenix when I inquired about them before my purchase.

    I'm just passing them on!

NICE. I am anxiously awaiting my Phoenix, this is a great section, glad I found it. I haven't seen the third seat option before. I love the "glove box" center compartment, but the third seat is a nice option.
