JR you are telling us that Phoenix has upped the HP ratting on the 721? Web page says max HP 250.

It really is a shame the Series 2 300's arent around anymore. Those cases seem to be the best compromise on a heavy basser verses a Torquemaster which can't be raised as high.

Evinrude needs to come out with s 300HO ETEC

they are a pretty good compromise in ways. I always felt like the case caused alot of extra drag though on heavier boats because you still have to run them way deeper than say a stroker or bullet.

Re: Phoenix 721 mercury 300xs (nightbasser)

Funny you say that, because thats why it shines on the heavier hulls. Those cases were never intended for Allison/Bullet use...

They were madefor the Ranger,Phoenix, Stratos etc. They can beran higher than the Merc case (ie. less drag) but still maintain good bow lift.

Someone needs to find a leftover Series 2 300 and let her eaton the 721

    Re: Phoenix 721 mercury 300xs (marty92xrd)

LOL, The 300xs dont really impress me one bit..sorry but it really doesn't. In fact I would be really hard pressed to justify one over a 250xs. They are great on the Bullets andsuch just causeof the Sporty. Put em on a Heavy everyday basser, it all gets evene'd up

Its a turd IMO,especially compared to the "X"
