Not a fan of that. They should copy tritons middle seat where the back lays down and you can step on it. It also has storage when the seat is leaned forward.

Fuel tank is under the seats. I use the storage and it works very well as both a step and storage, throw a cushion on it and you have a seat, little high but it works well.....

Three little bolts hold the box in between the seats. I can open the lid, undo the three bolts (have ends on them for you to unscrew with your hands), and have the removed and stored in my front storage box in less than two minutes. My throw cushion fits there perfectly and my son is smiling as we take off in no time. I would not trade my box for a middle seat even if I had three people in the boat often.
