    Replacing Power Pack Evinrude Intruder

Is this pretty easy to do, am ordering the parts today? Getting both parts, the optical sensor and power pack for $175.99. Did read on a website today that a miss above 4900 rpms was likely caused by the power pack tripping the rev limiter. From what we have discussed, this is my problem exactly.

Yep pretty easy to do. So is the EET as long as you have a piston stop tool.

you'll need part #384887 about $60.00 so you can remove the flywheel cover. The EET sits under it.

that is a lot of great info, i think i will change the power pack first, then if that fixes it i will leave it alone and keep the spare, but if not then i will take it somewhere and let them put the optical sensor in.

    jimh,
Those pics are for a big block looper where the PP is on the top of the motor. Bperdue's sits on the back of the motor and is easier to replace, Should take him 30 minutes tops.
