    175 ficht trouble any opinions

After a few trips the engine would stall during trolling or idling. I also noticed the idle speed seemed lower than usual. When this would happen, I could restart, but as soon as i put it in gear she would stall again. If I throttled up quick enough I could get it running. Also once I throttled up and ran it would run well. The problem got worse as time wnet on and now it won't start unless I push the throttle up (out of gear) and rev it a bit, but at idle its still running rough.

I fully investigated fuel issues and thats not it.
Thinking lift pump or electric fuel pump.

    Any ideas ?????

How does the engine start? When was the last time the plugs were changed?

I was starting OK for a while, but now won't start. Plugs, main separator, under cowl separator all been replaced. Fuel lines perfect, fuel perfect.
I did a search and found this post,

    EXACTLY the same symptoms.

I think i will change out the lift pump, if thats not it, at least the shop will not have to check it. I have the service manual.

But i am still open for any and all opinions.

The lift pump you get will be quite different than the original one. P/N 5004455 kit will have the new round plastic lift pump with a mount bracket and a new fuel filter/water separator. It is a pretty penny too. You need to check the fuel lift pump pressure and circulation pump pressure. Make sure the high pressure you measure is indeed fuel and not air in the lines. If you don't have the necessary tools & experience, it's time to pay a good E/J tech to do it for you. Otherwise you will be out time and $$$ and your motor still won't work.
