My father in law bought Scott Ashmores boat and Scott kept his prop, so they put a bravo 28 on it and it doesn't want to get out of the hole. Scott is going to send him a 26. My question is what prop/motor are the other sterling owners running?

The bravo 28 should be ok, but will have to have dual holes.

Maybe the jack plate is not set right my 2200 with 300x has the 12 inch manual jack plate, the jack plate is all the way up with 26 bravo and I have never had any problems. Where should his jack plate be set? We tried it at different settings along with the trim tabs. It seemed to be the best with jackplate all the way up trim tabs down and motor trimmed all the way down. But it probably still took 150 to 200 yards to get on plane. Thanks for the help
was scott running a bravo on it????????? and did they just put an out of the box bravo on it?????
LD
I bet they had a trophy on his... each sterling I have seen has had a 27 trophy on it--straight out of the box.
Scott was running a 26 bravo on it when i saw him at the river earlier this year.
Why wouldn't the original owner of the boat tell you what prop to run and what had to be done to it.
Only makes sence to me.... Now your stuck playing the guessing game....![]()
I would pick up the phone and call Ashmore or even Gambler for that matter. I would like to think they know what prop he was running. I am sure they would want to know so that they could recommend a prop to new owners..
Each sterling I have seen has had a 27 Trophy on it. I have Scott's older all Black Gambler... and it took me a while to get it prop'd to how i would like it.
From the factory we have been stocking a 27" Trophy. However, one dealer has been ordering it with a 26" Trophy.
The 28 bravo on it know is sraight out of the box. Scott is sending him a 26 he is going to try it and see what happens. He told me that Scott had a 27 something on it. Thanks for the help guys I'll keep yall posted. Gambler248 yall did a wonderful job building the sterling anyone that hasn't seen one in person is missing out all the detail is amazing.

You should have listened to the guy you bought it fromAs far as Gambler, when i bought my bought the only thing they could say was "26 trophy" and if you started to ask a question like "what do you do to impro..........."26 trophy"
Thats whats great about this forum.
you just have to actually believe that once in a while someone might know what there talking about
