    Re: Some info please (Rookiex129)

what engine do you have? i had a 26 trophy on my xb and i couldn't get passed 78-79.

I have never been a huge fan of the trophies, but they are fast propellers...

its a 05 225 opti I more or less want a spare prop and I heard from mark that its good for carrying a load well as I fish with a partner with full gear.Ive been trying like hell to get up to 80 with the 27p tempest it just get really squarrly and rocks side to side Ive been able to control it a little better but sometimes I can get it corrected and continue to 75.

would not be bad for an spare prop or main,, i tried a 27 tempest and samething it drove like shiot but that could be my set up,,,,, just make sure the trophy plus you get isn't cracked, new one should work for you, they do carry a heavy load well. JMO

    I think you are over proped for a 2100 with a 225.
I run a 27 TRO4 on an Intimidator 2000 and just turn 5700-5800 with a full tournament load.

I've got a 26 Trophy Plus on my 2100 / 250XB right now and had one on my 2200 / 250 EFI as well. It definitely gets squirrely once I get around 73 and did the same on the 2200.

I ended up cracking a blade on the Trophy so I put a repitched 27 Bravo 1 on the EFI and couldn't get the top end speed like the Trophy but the boat was a whole lot easier to drive with the Bravo 1.

The Trophy is definitely the faster prop but I liked the way the Bravo1 handled.

the trophy is gonna do the trick...ALL 4 blades are going to come out of the hole better, and handle better...do you have hydraulic steering???
to be honest, if you've been driving for a while, and have Hyd steering, you should have been able to adjust the JP to accomodate the SWIRL, and make it drivable...

    Good luck with the Trophy!

Let us know how long before it cracks a blade!

The Trophy has a history of cracked blades on Gamblers. They last a little longer if they are balanced and blue printed.

    Re: (low slung cruiser)

i had a 27 trophy... it was a faster prop than my bravo. i have a 28 Bravo now, but i still am losing about 4 mph with it... I use to be at 70-71 at 5gs, now im more 54 almost 55.. i have had it over 80 at right at 6000-6100 rpm's.

PowerTech tr04's I had one made for a bullet that might have been my fastest prop... it would be at 82 and some change at about 5800... and i had a hydromotive that would do the same...

The trophy's have never been my favorite. Even though I would buy another if need be.

    Re: (Rookiex129)

What you have to remember is that if you go down in pitch you are going to loose speed. What you said is that you have plenty of throttle left at 5500. That is fine but your limiter is 5750. I agree a 4 blade trophy will be easier to drive but you are going to hit the limiter before you get good top end speed. That is why I had a 26 trophy in the box as a spare prop. And they do crack blades. Dont remember because I ran the 26 when the motor was first put on and was at 5700 at 70 mph. Another thing is that you need to know is that a gambler with out trim tabs will never come out the hole like a ranger. I ran over 20 props on that boat and that was the only prop that would come out the hole run to the limiter with a full load.

If you don't want that prop I will meet up with you and trade it for the 26 trophy?

Corey when you get some free time get with me and you can run my tro4. It sounds like you might have the motor a touch low. Have you had anyone out in your boat yet that is familiar with a gambler. Give me a call tomorrow.

NOOOO I love the prop lol you cant have it back lolololol Well on orange lake last tuesday I met up with a guy who is my room mates uncle he has a 2100 gambler I measured the prop to pad and have about 3 set marks on my jack plate with the measurements wrote on it I can go about 2.50 below the pad and still maintain good water pressure at high speed and it does handle well.Mind you I do always have a extra body in the boat with me.Now we took off across orange lake and my boat didnt plane as fast as his but he has a 26p and he was alone but when I got on plane I was going 70 with some walk at 5200 rpms with that extra body. The guy name bob told me it ran good just like you guys have told me ''seat time'' I asked him how far he sets his motor in the water he said 3'' he had a 225 just like mine a 2001 almost the same set up.He told me that gamblers are known for being a lil scary top end esp. for new comers to them but all and all he said 70 wasnt too bad with 2 200+ lb men in the boat.Sooooooooo I cant be doing some that aweful wrong.BUT I havent had anyone actually DRIVE with me for awhile in it to show me how it really needs to be done I could be a hair off somewhere on my jack plate OR I could be over correcting the chine walk BUT sometimes I do it just right now when it starts I correct it and it feels like it surges forward after I correct it then I hit 75 and I just can seem to get past 75's walk it does it 70 then IF i get it corrected Ill push to 75 and MAN does it walk One time I corrected it so smooth and it just road perfect.I know its allot to do with me And maybe trim tabs are the answer but that old man bob with the gambler I went out with at orange lake was jamming at about 80mph smooth as a sheet of glass it looked like he was riding on.I should of had him take me around in my boat :( see if he could explain a few things to me.Its hard on here you can Only tell someone so much over the net but to see it first hand and have them tell you whats wrong and right it helps ya know......My schedual does SUCK I work shift work and it makes it hard for me to meet up with you guys.

you'll get there. It could be as simple as over correcting. It will amaze you what having someone drive it with you in it, and show you the excactly what it needs. I had mine about three months before a member on here drove mine, I picked up 3-4 mph from what I was driving it at the beginning of the day. It definately help to see it in person.
