26 FURY that is amazing from the time the nose drops to WOT which i can turn perfectly at 5800 ....
25 Trophy that jumps out of whole and at 6200+ im running 74 gps....

WHAT IS A GOOD PROP that i can try that i wont have to lower pitch/speed and actually get out of hole at a decent speed???

    yeah i've got an 03 outlaw...with tabs...
running "NO" pvs plugs...i was told i could take my fury and drill the holes out a little bit larger to get more venting, but ive got a friends 27 powertech that i was going to give a try first...
seems like on my '96 225 EFI, an over the barrell exhaust prop comes out better...

What's on the back and whats your setup? How is the fury on top? My boat ran better with a 26 fury than any other prop i've had on it. It was a little slow popping up with 2 guys, full livewells and a solid tank of fuel, but i dont have tabs.

Is it coming out slow even with the tabs down or are you trying to not have to use the tabs at all?

    Re: (Gambler250XB)

ok i'm gonna try to answer both you guys in 1 reply...
    03 outlaw...
    96 225 EFI...
with the FURY 26p, i have to run tabs down always, and if i've got over a 1/2 tank of gas and 2 people, my passenger almost always has to go to front to help it out...
by myself, i can usually get it out ok...
BUT from mid range, to TOP END she is BAD TO THE BONE....PERFECT RPM range and is strong all the way to WOT...

with my 25 Trophy i can jump out of the hole with or without tabs when empty, when passengered and livewells full, a 1/2 run down of the tabs is all i need....
PROBLEM is im topping out too quick....6000-6200 74-76 mph...

    UPDATE from 7/1/10...
    tried my buddies 27 powertech...
after letting it warm up, idled under bridge, dropped tabs all way down and she slid right up on plane...BUT MAN did the MID RANGE AND TOP END SUCK....

I think im gonna try to vent my 26 FURY some more and get it usable...it is night and DAY difference in the power with the FURY/ or my undersized trophy....

O YEAH, also the 27 powertech had almost "NO" bow lift...
NORMALLY i have to trim the bow back down after she starts getting out of the water close to WOT, YESTERDAy with the POWERTECH, i could trim to the sky and still never got the lift....
75 mph was my max speed that i saw...

thats strange with the fury...all of them i have heard about are very good out of the hole...mine was very fast up....the fury is a stiff prop though...and the 26 may be at the limit of your motor...sounds like you have 2 options...get the fury worked for holeshot, or run the pitch up one inch on the trophy....i see from another post that you have tried a 27 fury...how about a 25????? 6000 would be a good rpm number i would think....

Your friend's PowerTech TRO4-27 must have been re-worked or something.
The TRO4-27 has good mid and great top end, usually hard to get out of the hole.

    Re: (JAZII)

I do know that a 27 tempest worked by Croxton has been the best prop for my boat. It ran really well. Better than a worked 26 Fury, but mine is also an 87... yours is a whole different beast!
