side boards on ameratrail trailer

Can anyone tell me how far down the side boards on the finder wells go? The trailer I am restoring didn't have them I think they had rotted out and were removed. Im wondering if they are to the top or bottom of the channel beam? thanks

i had a 94 and boards stopped at the top of channel.

Mine stops at the top of the channel.
