interested to see how this turns out, my steering wheel never stops in the same spot so over time the wheel would be strait up and down

That's going to be quite scary, not to mention weird given the hydraulic steering.![]()

Wheel position changes frequently. Even straight up and down is very different but not bad at all when driving. Its best when manuvering in tight places like boat docks etc. Full starboard to full port engine position using the spinners is a snap. The smart craft gages provide a host of info but could not see them most of the time with the big Gambler wheel. Really easy to slip into the cockpit with no wheel in the way. Second version coming out soon.
I can't believe that you'd think that was safe in a fast boat; you're just asking for trouble with it like that. Personally I'd never be a passenger in a boat that had that as the steering wheel. I'll bet your insurance company wouldn't be impressed if they knew.

I personally like this one and you can put your GPS sonar unit right above where it says MOMO.

The F1 wheel cost as much as our boats.
My next version will most likely have a hydraulic slip clutch. You won't ride in that one either al. :)
I'd be leary to get any seerious speed. Didn't they call those suicide knobs back in the day? Yeah, I'm showing my age!!!
