Can i ask you guys a question

It is going to be a while before i buy another boat however i am saving for my next..i really like the gamblers and they are growing on me. However my experience with my current boat has got me kinda scared with wood in boats (i had to restore the cajun due to rot and it wasn't my favorite thing to do) So can you tell me if the gamblers have wood or not. Also if you had to due it over again would you still be in a gambler? I really like these boats and you know what they are when you see them.. I am torn between a allison and a gambler but the gamblers seem to be more in my price range..can you guy educate me..thanks

I still can't tell you about the wood, but like I said before- I bought this one because the one I had in the late 80s or early 90 was one good,tuff,fast, good looking boat that I could not tear up.I will get them airborne from time to time.My last boat was a 18ft venture that I put two six foot cracks in the hull on lake guntersville. If I hit the lotto tomorrow I would go buy two more monday morning. One to fish out of and one just to look at.

I love mine, I'm not sure of the year that they quit using wood but I believe it was the early to mid 90's. They are very solid boats and the ride is nice. I would by another one in a second.

I've always heard that after about '94 they no longer used any wood, like someone else said before.

I'm on my second Gambler now and probably won't ever buy anything different....although I might consider a single console G Boat in the future.

I love mine and really wouldn't consider anything else except for a Allison BasSport.. You just don't have problems with the Gamblers like you do with other boats and from what I hear nether do the guys with the Allison's..
Both are very well built boats..
I think it was 1996 when Gambler stopped using wood in their boats but I am not sure..

I have been out of boating for a few years now, but I have owned 12 Gambler Bass boats. Not one of those ever had a problem with the fiberglass finish or construction. Many of those are still running today, setting in someone else's garage. The owner of this forum is a prime example. As for wood, Gambler has not used wood in the boats since about 92 or 93. It started with the Intimidator 19 ft and the idea migrated to the 209, and continues today. However, that said, wood is not a problem if done correctly. The Delta Queen paddle boat is over 150 years old and it is totally made of wood, still in service today. If wood is properly sealed from the elements it can be a great core material. Bass boat cmpanies were terrible about using wood, but not encapsulating it correctly, which in turn gave wood a very bad name....in bass boats. That said, foam cores such as Klegecell and others MUST be totally sealed from the elements as well. That is the primary reason Bob Ackerbloom went to the full length liner system in the Gambler boat. It totally seals the flotation foam and structral foam from the elements. It is a very expensive way to build a boat, but it is the best way on the market today. Only one other company goes to such lengths to build a boat and that is Boston Whaler, and they don't make bass boats. If you are trying to decide between a Gambler and any other boat on the market today, you haven't done your homework. For when you do the research, Gambler will win hands down against anything and everything made today.

Hey guys first post here:

Have had the pleasure of touring the factory at Gambler. Bob Ackerbloom took me all around the place, what an impressive operation! I have the big cousin of the Gambler, a Shearwater bay boat, hands down best bay boat made and pretty quick too for a big girl. The few minor issues I've had have been dealt with quickly and efficiently. I would love to have a true Gambler if only they made one with non skid and no carpet. Anyway great sight you guys have here look forward to participating
