    X-21 questions

I'm loving my boat, just had some questions. I haven't changed anything yet although I feel like I need to after reading in here. I have some quick pics that I took, that I hope aren't totally useless.

I was wondering if changing the pad height would help the sidescan and sonar work at higher speeds.

X-21 Yamaha F200LB not sure how to tell what size the prop is.

    This is topped out

Looks to me like your motor is set to deep for maximum lift. By judging off your measurements your prop shaft is 6-7in below pad. Most of us run 3-5 inches with the proper propeller. What is the max rpms you can turn with that motor as well, that will help someone recommend a prop if you wish to look at the difference? To get back to your first question, You do not want to have you side scan working when over ten MPH because it is useless at fast speeds as the returns are washed out and they can break off when hitting a underwater object much easier than a normal transducer. The only transducer that should work at speeds above 15 is the one on the right ( the high speed transducer)

Thanks, I will try and get that data this weekend. BBC has been so helpful. I'm really green so whn you say "What is the max rpms you can turn with that motor as well" do you mean me personally or like the factory specs.

First problem I see is it's a OFX Powertech prop. There is way better props for your rig, and I don't have a clue as to why Xpress keeps putting them on there boats. When you get a chance test some props like a Merc. Trophy or Tempest, a Yamaha T1, or maybe even a Bravo XS. Some of the guys running the X21's will maybe chime in. Also a TXP would be good to test.

that power tech will make a nice kayak anchor. i have had good luck with my turbo txp-ot4. im a fan of 4 blade props for lift, load carrying and hole shot. will maybe sacrifice a little speed from a 3 blade but not much.
