For those of you that owned 209's and now have the 2100......was the difference in these 21 footers in ride and speed? Is the new hull better or not so much? Have seen a few post that made me wonder.
Thanks

I had a 1998 209 with a 225 Evenrude (02) I now have a 2007 Int. 2000 with a 225 pro xs I can tell you this, If I close my eyes other than a little less speed and trim tabs I can't see any diff. The ride is about the same and space is about the same. I think the size of the console is more closer to a 2100 (leg room)but I think the over all is more close to the 20' than the 21'
Do I understand you to say that the new hull is slower?
More than likely, its heavier. Double hull construction.

I have a 1996 209 TE and have ridden in the newer hulls the only difference to me is the hole shot with the trim tabs...ride quality was the same IMO.
i have a 95 209 w/ a 225 super mag.
Yes the 209 was faster but if the 209 is more of the same as a 2100 that would be correct I guess. Hell I dont really know!! The 209 would run about 83 GPS with a stock 2002 225HO Evenrude with a 12'' setback @ WOT and the 2000 with 225XS runs about 80 GPS @ WOT with 6'' setback. Also the 209 was a Earnhardt boat maybe full kevlar?? But to be honest I think the size of the 209 was closer to a 2100.My 209 was also single console and my 2000 is doul console. I really wish I had not tried to help because after reading what I wrote I have confused myself!!![]()
no kevlar in a 209. also the intimidator was the enhart boat for those years. they did offer an enhart color sceam, but it was not badges as so, for 209's, i think. i almost bought that until they told me it was the most popular color package. my 209 has some dale sig. stuff on it. but that is because they only made one part to cover all the boats. look in the gambler heritage sticky at the top of this list. the dale colors were the top left bk/sv/rd color in the block called the tournement block of the 209 sec.
10-4 G209 I thank you for the info. I thought my 209 was a E-boat but you are correct. Anyway I do miss the big Black rig! She was in great shape when I sold her, and I made the mistake of bying another brand. I was not long selling that thing and getting another G-boat.![]()
83? Was the boat empty? My 209 can hit 80 with an empty boat and a perfect prop (no dings ect) with a 2004 stock 225 OPTI. The biggest reason I am looking at the 2100 is so i can run a 250 and play at 80+. I love the 209 except the HP restriction. But then again the 2100 I am looking at has a 225 EFI so I will have to repower at some point anyway....... Would be nice if money was not an issue huh?
83 any day of the week! 28 Raker (worked) and a tournament load by myself. The Evenrude was set up by Swartzel Marine in coolville ohio and it was a rocket. I have also turned a stock 30 raker with that motor very light load and a mile to get her on plane. I don't have a clue about prop slip or any of that but I know how to drive a G- boat and read a GPS.![]()
Thats awsome. I was turning a 27 PT at 5800 but my new power head will just not turn it. I lost almost 400 RPM. I sent it back to Mark to take some out of it. I have the boat in now getting looked at for throttle rigging ect....also they think the hot water dump may be clogged which might also explain the three hubs I have spun in the last 6 months.
if the 2004 will run like my 2000 2100 you shouldn't loose speed. when I said in the im that I ran almost 79.5 with my power tech I didn't tell you that it was slam full of gas, and full live wells. I let flippincrazy drive it and he hit just a few tenths under 79 with the two of us in it. hopes this helps
