    chine walking

hi guys great furum, I have a 2000 2100 with a merc 225 efi. at about 73 the boats starts chine walking it gets real bad at 76 I was told that I could eliminate some of this changing to a three blade prop. currently running a 4 blade 27 p power tech prop. I would like to get some input from others with similar boats before dropping a lot of money on here say also heard blueprinting my current prop may help and would be cheaper

    Re: chine walking (2100greenmonster)

I'm not a gambler expert here, but the prop you have should prevent chine walk better than a general three blade prop..

Raising the engine some will help (watch water pressure) and seat time...

    Re: chine walking (KCLOST)

I learned that it was all about the seat time for me. My first gambler was an intimidator that would run about 75. When I got my 2200 I learned there is a huge difference between 75 and 80! It took me 7 times of JUST driving to begin to control the chine. Now it is second nature, but seat time is the #1 factor IMHO

ok I have noticed a difference in the first time I took the boat out and the last as far as comfort, this is really my first higher performance boat, still learning what to expect

If you're running alone fill the oppisite side livewell to help equalize the load. This helps on mine. Good Luck.

dont hastily start doing a lot of prop changing until you get a real feel for driving the Gambler!

Very nice boat you have there. As mentioned above, just take it slow and eventually, you'll make the necessary corrections subconciously before the walking starts.

I am right up the road from ya in Interlachen, and I have some experience with my Dad's Gambler, and I would be more than happy to look at your setup and maybe give you some ideas.
