Gambler livewell question

Hello i am looking at a 1999 20.6 intmidator, like the boat but i am concerned about the size of the two livewells. they look to be about 10 -12 gallons apiece measured about 23'' long, 10" wide, 10' deep. i have friends with newer and older models and they have 20 gallons on each side so why were these made small? Question has anyone came across this before. Also how hard would it be to remove the cap and change to bigger livewells hoses pumps etc. would gambler do this ? Would hate to pass on this cause of live well size but i just came out of a single 14 gallon well in my old boat it was to small these are smaller and shorter Heck a 8 pounders nose and tail would be hitting both ends forget about more fish in the well any suggestions or coments thanks joe

Joe, I had a 98. Mine looked small too, but they were 20 gal.s. They were all 20 gal. Measure by volume, pour in four 5 gal containers of water to make sure.

Using those dimensions 23" x 10" x 10", there is 3.19 cubic feet in each livewell. Therefore with there being 7.48 gallons in one cubic foot, the livewell dimensions yield a total of 23.89 gallons. I have a 2001 Intimidator and I had a 2000 Intimidator and they both had twin 20 gallon livewells. The boat in question should have the same livewells.
