I have an 01 tr-21 and a few of my compartments including glove box are soaked after a good rain. Was wanting some ideas on the best way to seal them. I've tried weather stripping from lowes and didn't work out to well for me...

If it has the original latches and the covers for the key holes are missing, the water can pass through the keyhole. Another way the water can get in is where the pistons are fastened to the boat the screws get loose and allow water to leek in.

You need the U shaped weather stripping that fits over the top of the rim like the old stuff that came in there. It can get old and brittle. If one of them is the front box that has the pedestal seat over it check to make sure the drain tube is still hooked up. It drains to the front.
Over a period of years the weather gasket can become dry, crack, and sometimes even falls off. I am sure dealers have replacement gaskets to make the repair. Make sure when you install the new trim that you clean the area good with alcohol.
Yea I think I need some new weather stripping I tried to buy some from lowes that are sticky on one side and they didn't stick go
good. They are the original latches but the rod locker that gets the wettest has the cover on key hole. I'll call dealer and see if they have any wether stripping that will work
I just checked and the rod lockers only have the vinyl trim no weather stripping at all.. Do you think this vinyl trim
needs changed out or wether stripping out over the top of it.
At one time the bubble or weather stripping was attached to the trim. After a period of years they came apart. You may still be able to find some of that style trim.
Ok that's what I thought a few of them still have the bubble style seal on them wasn't sure if it was supposed to be like that or not. As far as glove box u think I could weather strip it?
