I also posted this in the general bassboat section yesterday with no luck:
I've been trying to replace two broken hydraulic lines for my jack plate for about a month now. It's an older style Detwiler with remote pump. Here's my problem: I have figured out after hours of research that Detwiler used an OMC Cobra stern drive trim pump for this application. OMC used an unusual style of fitting on their trim lines. The ends are not standard inverted flare like Mercruiser or Volvo, so I can't just have new hoses made up at NAPA, etc. I would assume that Detwiler used an O.E. OMC replacement trim hose because I doubt they had the hoses specifically manufactured for an OMC pump, as it would have been easier to use a Merc. pump that has standard style fittings. Detwiler has no parts or even any records for older model plates, so they were no help at all. I have found a couple of OMC stern drive trim hoses that look identical to the ones that I need to replace, but they just list
part #'s, and no one that I've called so far is willing to just take the hose out of the package and measure it, even though I told them if they are the right length I'll buy two! Is there anywhere that I could find measurements for certain part numbers? This is starting to drive me insane.
