Boat leaning to left when running

I've been noticing my tunnel leans to the left when running on plane and the faster I go the worse it gets. Thought it was due to my battery being on my port side but my partner rode in it for the first time yesterday and said it was from prop torque. I didn't think so until I tested a new prop yesterday, it was leaning worse at top end than with the other prop. The new prop was stainless and had more bite and better lift.

Is this just related to tunnel hulls or aluminum boats in general. I'm going to switch my battery to the starboard side to see if it helps any.

My buddy just got a brand new g3 tunnel hull and was having the same problem. It leaned so bad to one side that it was dangerous if you went into a curve to the opposite side. We took it back to collins and measured it and found that the tunnel was cocked about a 1/4 inch to the left. G3 is sending him a new boat. They said that it had been a problem in the past but they thought they had it corrected. My tunnel hull runs perfect even when I have 12 gallons of gas on one side and none on the other so it is definitely not something with all tunnel hulls. My boat is an a 2003 and I have it rigged where I have two 12 gallon tanks with one on each side so its a little different than the newer g3 setups.

Just called my buddy about your post and he said he talked to G3 today and they said that around the time his boat was built that they have had some problems with those models leaning to the left. If I was you I would call the people I bought it from and you may get a new one out of the deal. If you want to talk to my buddy directly let me know and I will get you his number.

    Thanks for the info Matt..

I haven't run the boat much at all, just now have ten hours on it but when I ran that other prop yesterday it was kind of scary. I will call Fred at Collin's tomorrow. I have done a lot of rigging on this boat and it will suck to have to do it all over again.

You been catching any fish? We put in at Falkland yesterday and the water was super low, can't even think about going above the bridge and down river isn't much better. Picked a bad time to buy a tunnel.

Do you mind telling me your friends name so I can reference him when I call the dealer tomorrow? You can send me an IM if you want.

His name is Pat Harris. He got his boat from Collins as well so they will know exactly what you are talking about. Been catching a few in the Neuse. Was thinking about going to falkland one day this week.

    Thanks Matt.

I might have to go over that way until we get some more water in the Tar. It's not worth your time to go over there right now.

Talked to Collin's today and he is going to contact the factory, told me that they will more than likely build me a new also. We have a guy in our club with an 08' 1860 tunnel and his doesn't lean.

Good deal. They should get you straight. The guy at collins said G3 was real good about looking after their customers.
