    Re: trailer question (g3mike)

I checked the trailer while shoveling snow this afternoon, aaahhhh.

There is a small sticker behing the tounge that has some info on it, the closest thing I could find to a model number was a section called "type" which read LTV 72-18, the rest of the stuff on the tags was tire preasure info, weight the trailer was rated for, etc.

If there is info anywhere else I can't find it. Hope that helps.

BTW, I hate that trailer, It has been nothing but trouble.

    Re: trailer question (g3mike)

heres an update to my trailer issue..
bear trailer will only seel thru there dealer so i finally got one to return my call, with shiping it more than twice the cost of a local dealer for a similar trailer but galvanized..
as for where mine failed...the rear leaf spring hanger bracket broke free from each side... and jammed up inthe the tube portion of the trialer. the main problem with that otheer than the obviuos is. my tire rubs the inside of the fender well., also the cross memebers that go across the bottom have completly rotted out,,

Mike - been a while since I've been on the boards. Sorry to hear about the trailer woes. I did send you the trailer model number off of mine via e-mail earlier. Didn't hear back, but I assumed you got it? What's the latest on the trailer situation?

    Re: trailer question (G3Jim)

after 2 weeks of calling 2 different dealers, i got one to look up the price for a galvanized traile rfor my boat.. model LTV-72-18-G
delivered to there shop, taxes-tags-title and everything else. 2600 bucks.
its going to take 2 to 3 weeks to get it, then i have to drive 80 miles one way to get it... i looked and looked for a universal fit trailer, but i could not find one that i thought would support the boat the way it needed to...
    mike c

on a side note, the dealer would not quote me a price unless i sent him pics to prove i had a g3.. then he had to have the model number and engine number before he would order it...to make sure my name was on the titleI know this because when he called back he knew the boats lineage and who owned it before me..../ i had to jump through hoops to get this trailer...

Interesting to hear of your problem. I have a 2002 Pro175 and am debating whether to put on new bunk boards, new tires and grind down all of the rust and repaint and was thinking of a galvanized trailer. I live up the road from you in Dumfries. Who did you finally get to order a new trailer for you and is it coming from Bear?

    Re: trailer question (HalBrown)

I have a galv. trailer on my G3. It's a 175 also. It was made by Bear also. Had to replace the bunks a year ago, but other than that it has given me no problems.
